At MentorNect, we respect your concerns about privacy. This Privacy Policy informs you of how we collect, use and share the personal information provided to us. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully as it contains important information on who we are and why we collect, store and use your data. This policy also explains your rights in relation to your personal data and how to contact us or supervisory authorities in the event you have a complaint.
For the purpose of this Privacy Policy, unless otherwise noted, all references to MentorNect include mentornect.org and mentornect.co.uk. By using the MentorNect website, you consent to the data practices described in this statement. This Privacy Policy shall apply to any individual that engages with MentorNect including through this website, and including but in no way limited to Mentees, Mentors, Volunteers, or anyone else who may access our website.
INFORMATION WE COLLECT
For the purposes of this policy personal data or personal information means any information about an individual from which that person can be identified. During the usage of this website we may collect, use, and store different kinds of personal data about you which can be identified in different groups:
– Identity Data, which includes first name, last name, username, age, race/ethnicity, gender or any similar identifier;
– Contact Data, which includes billing address, email address and telephone numbers;
–Financial Data, which includes bank account details used in the course of a transaction with MentorNect and any transactional data related to these payments;
– Technical Data, which includes internet protocol (IP) address, your login data, browser type and version, time zone setting and location, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform, and other technology on the devices you use to access this website;
– Usage Data, which includes information about how you use our website, products, and services; and
– Marketing and Communication Data, which includes your preferences in receiving marketing from us and our third parties and your nominated communication preferences.
HOW IS YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION COLLECTED?
MentorNect use different methods to collect data from you and about you depending on how you as a user interact with our website and utilise our services including through the following methods.
– Direct Interactions. In order to become an Mentor, Volunteer or Mentee we will ask you to provide the following information’s about yourself
- Name;
- Telephone Number;
- Email address;
- Gender;
- Geological information; and
- Race/ethnicity.
– If you purchase additional services or donate to MentorNect we collect billing and credit card information. This information is used to complete the purchase transaction.
– Automated Technologies or Interactions. As you interact with our website, we will automatically collect Technical Data about your equipment, browsing actions and patterns. We collect this personal data by using cookies and other similar technologies.
– Third-Party Sources. We will receive personal data about you from Google Analytics whenever you visit our website.
When we do collect information we are regulated under the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 which applies across the European Union (including in the United Kingdom) and the Data Protection Act 2018 and we are responsible as ‘controller’ of that personal information for the purposes of those laws.
IF YOU FAIL TO PROVIDE PERSONAL INFORMATION
We do not collect any personal information about you unless you voluntarily provide it to us.
However, you may be required to provide certain personal information to us when you elect to use a certain service available on the site or if this data is required by law. These may include:
(a) registering for an account on our site;
(b) sending us an email message;
(c) submitting your credit card or other payment information when donating or ordering and purchasing additional services on our site.
If you fail to provide that data when requested, we may not be able to perform or provide the service that you are opting into with MentorNect. In this case, we may have to cancel the elected service you have with us but we will notify you if this is the case at the time.
HOW WE USE THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT
MentorNect collects and uses your personal information to operate its website and deliver the requested services. Under data protection law, we can only use your personal data if we have a proper reason such:
– Where you have given consent;
– To comply with legal and regulatory obligations;
– For the performance of a service with you (i.e. to create and manage your account and provide you with the services requested) or to take steps at your request before performance of this service; or
– For our legitimate interests.

MentorNect may also use your personal information to inform you of other services available from MentorNect. We may also use the personal information we obtain to:
-Provide mentoring services;
-Create mentee and mentor portal accounts;
-Administer participation in surveys or other programmes;
-Manage communications;
-Analyse our services and customer base;
-Perform data analytics;
-Develop new products and services;
-Respond to enquiries; and
-Send, only to registered users, newsletters, emails or other marketing communications.
We will not share, sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties without your permission or unless required in the course of your engagement by us other than for the limited exceptions listed below:
– If we are required to do so by law or comply with the contractual obligations we are subject to;
– For the purposes of our legitimate interests or those of a third party, but only if these are not overridden by your interests, rights or freedoms;
– In urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety or vital interests of clients or the public; or
– To protect and defend the rights of property of Everest People Solutions Limited.

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and organisational procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.
We limit access to your personal information to those who have a genuine business need to know it. Those processing your information will do so only in an authorised manner and are subject to a duty of confidentiality.
We also have procedures in place to deal with any suspected data security breach. We will notify you and any applicable regulator of a suspected data security breach where we are legally required to do so.
